1. History in the Making
Long before we opened our doors as one of Hamilton’s most gorgeous wedding and event venues, Liuna Station was home to the former CN Rail Station and was actually the last neo-classical style station to be built in the country. Just imagine how many people came through that station and the stories they could tell. If only the walls could talk!
2. The Royal Treatment
We make a habit of providing all of our guests with the royal treatment, so it’s quite fitting that close to 60 years ago, Queen Elizabeth II arrived in Hamilton via the CN Rail Station. Liuna Station really is a place fit for a Queen!
3. 85 Years Young
We’re looking pretty fantastic for our age, wouldn’t you say? This upcoming May Liuna will be celebrating 86 years since the station’s opening day. We have maintained the integrity of the building’s beautiful historical features while at the same time making sure we have the latest modern amenities to accommodate our visitors and provide first class service.
4. All Aboard!
The station was still being used for train service until the late 80’s. The building actually stood abandoned for several years until it was purchased by Liuna in 1999. Now the only trains we see passing through belong at the ends of gorgeous white gowns!
5. Always in Style
You don’t have to look far to notice the extensive use of original brass, copper and exquisite craftsmanship throughout the facility. Our windows are even adorned with Versace™ drapes. We want guests to feel a sense of luxury around every corner.
6. A Taste for Excellence
It’s not just the fancy drapery and beautiful brass that makes Liuna Station shine. If you’ve got an appetite for delicious, authentic Italian cuisine, you have come to the right place. 7. Lights, Camera, Action!
Liuna Station has been the backdrop for several Hollywood and independent films, commercials and even hosted the official after party for the 2016 Juno Awards. A-List stars like Hugh Jackman, Katie Holmes and Samuel L. Jackson are just a few of the big names to walk through our doors. As exciting as it can be to welcome the rich and famous, at Liuna Station you don’t need to be a celebrity to feel like a VIP.
