EIGHTEEN TO TWELVE MONTHS OUT start looking, clipping and saving any and all inspiration that speaks to you and your groom – begin to think of colour palettes and vision for your big day! Remember timing is everything so choose a date and a time of year that speaks to you! Your budget is an important one so make sure you come up with a budget that feels feasible right for you both! The guests – begin to think of your guest list, have a rough number in mind and don’t forget about choosing your wedding party too! TWELVE TO NINE MONTHS OUT mark you will want to send out your Save the Dates! Then you will start to choose your wedding official, caterer (if your venue does not offer catering, p.s. we have an amazing menu) photographer and possibly a videographer. You will also decide if you want entertainment- will you have a DJ or a band?
The most delicious part of the event – cake testing, lock down your favourite baker for an awe-inspiring cake! Reach out to out of town guests to find out if you need to reserve accommodations for them for your special day. Plan a Limo or shuttle bus service for yourself, wedding party and your guests to and from the venue. Look into and choose your bridal party attire and accessories so there is plenty of time for tailoring – gorg, exciting and so fun! Set up (or find someone to help) your wedding social media page or website if you are going paper free! Lock down dates for your Bridal Shower, bachelor and bachelorette parties to celebrate the love and make lasting memories! Décor – begin to work with your florist and décor company to bring your vision to life! Also don’t forget to plan your honeymoon, because you deserve a break after all this hard work!

6 MONTHS OUT start to create and set up your gift registry. After finding the perfect florist it’s time to begin sampling floral arrangements – all those blooms! Make sure to also book your hair and makeup trial for the day of as well.
THREE MONTHS OUT means it’s time to pick the soundtrack to your wedding day with your DJ/Band and finalize the harmonious details! Pick out and purchase those symbols of love – your wedding rings. Grab the girls and guys and schedule in some dress fittings. Finalize reception menu and bar details to be able to add the info to your invitations because they will be going out this month as well! Organize a wedding day timeline and design your ceremony programs. Finalize all the beautiful décor and floral details for your special day! Apply for a marriage license (super important)! Shower your bridal party with love and book spa and beauty treatments! Finalize all your stationery details and gather your personalized wedding favours. Then to cap the month off organize the traditional rehearsal dinner!

ONE MONTH OUT it’s time to get real serious – Confirm date, time and location with all vendors! Confirm honeymoon reservations and pack for your honeymoon! Be sure to pick up the most important piece of paper of the day – your marriage license! Step into your final dress fitting and have your final hair and makeup trial! Also a small task that will make a big difference is for you to break in your footwear for the big day! Perhaps look at hiring a day-off planner if you want to really relax into your special day.

TWO WEEKS OUT prior to your wedding make sure you send your final guest list to your venue and caterer. The seating chart needs to be completed and sent to your printer. Make sure to Follow up with guests who have not RSVP’d and update any of your registries. Be sure to make arrangements for your home and pets while you are on your honeymoon! Also assign wedding day duties like the gift table, guestbook etc. to the wedding party or a close family member. And lastly submit your final itinerary to your venue, vendors and caterer!
