This moody and enchanted room of rich burgundy, gold and cream aesthetic and décor brought all the romantic feels to the 200 plus guests that attended the charming couple – Yvonne and Christopher nuptials and ceremony! We couldn’t get enough of this October wedding!
Tell us a bit about your event you hosted at LiUNA Station!
Being Hamiltonians, our vision was to celebrate our special day surrounded by family and friends, in a historic and elegant Hamilton venue – so we did just that! We hosted our ceremony in the beautiful LiUNA Station Grand Lobby, and our reception of two hundred thirty guests in the enchanting King George Ballroom.
What were some of the sources of inspiration behind the look and feel of your event?
We chose a Fall wedding because we love the colours and the moodiness of October. We both work in the music industry, so we really wanted to lean into our rock n’ roll roots, while taking some inspiration from The Great Gatsby. The King George Ballroom complimented our theme perfectly with its rich hues of burgundy, inclusive of gold and dark accents.

The bridal bouquet and all of our floral arrangements were absolutely stunning! Big shoutout to Melanie from Kindred Décor (https://www.kindreddesignanddecor.com/) for bringing our vision to life through timeless and beautifully crafted pieces.
What is the one piece of advice you would give someone planning their big day!
Contrary to popular belief, wedding planning does not need to be a long and daunting task. Once you lock in your perfect venue/location, the rest will fall into place. Quick decisions help make the process so much easier, as there’s no time for overthinking. With the right event team in our corner (much love to Meagan from Siren Events & Co (https://www.sirendesignsxo.com/)), we planned our wedding in less than two months and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome!
What moment during your event will forever be etched into your memory?
Our wedding day kicked off with the perfect storm -quite literally! We wanted the moodiness of an October wedding, and mother nature truly delivered!
In the midst of our vows, we joked about it being a cloudy day. In that exact moment, a beam of sunlight burst through the windows of the lobby, catching everyone’s attention, and the weather cleared up for the rest of the day. We’ll cherish that moment forever!

MVP – What vendor couldn’t you live without?!
So much love goes out to our amazing Photographer Sandra! Prior to our wedding day, Sandra met with us in a location of our choice (Kensington Market in Toronto) so she could grab some photos and get to know us a little better. This experience definitely helped ease us into our big day, as we felt super comfortable both with her, and in front of the camera. Sandra exceeded our expectations and was able to capture so many beautiful, fun and special moments on our wedding day.
