We reached out to a few floral experts nominate as fan favourites by our community to do a quick Q & A on one of our all time fav décor pieces!
- One thing that would surprise clients about being a florist?
Being a florist, you need to be able to create/design last minute, not much can be done more than a week ahead, long hours and time crunches leading up to the day and day of. Also, I’ve become immune to the beautiful scents of flowers after 20 years in the business. I miss being able to smell the flowers.
- What is one piece of advice you’d give to a client to get the most out of their booked service (wedding, shower, corporate event)?
Consider repurposing flowers from ceremony to reception, Even using some centerpieces to line the aisle, saves having to spend separate on both
- What do 12 roses mean to you?
1, 2, 6 or 12. Roses to me are a symbol of love at any number 🙂
- One thing that would surprise clients about being a florist?
Something that would surprise clients about being a florist is how much prep goes into the flowers before they’re assembled!!
- What is one piece of advice you’d give to a client to get the most out of their booked service (wedding, shower, corporate event)?
For weddings, always repurpose your ceremony arrangements!

12 roses to me means a year of love! 1 rose for each month!

Being a Florist is a journey filled with many unexpected delights and challenges. No two days are ever the same! It is about connecting with nature, people and emotions.
- What is one piece of advice you’d give to a client to get the most out of their booked service (wedding, shower, corporate event)?
Repurpose as many of the flowers as you can. Whether it be changing out a single flower or changing its location in a room can go a long way.
