With September well underway there’s definitely a chill in the air, but our hearts are still feeling warm from all the love within Liuna Station. Every couple who comes through our doors to celebrate their wedding has such a unique story and we love getting the opportunity to find out just how Liuna Station was able to play a part in each couple’s happily ever after. We recently caught up with Natasha, a Liuna Station bride who was kind enough to fill us in on her love story, describe her experience at Liuna Station and share some words of advice for couples that are in the process of planning their own wedding. LS: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your husband.
NR: My name is Natasha and I am 27. I am a Mortgage Broker and I also do administration for my moms mortgage brokerage. My Husband’s name is Rob and he is 32. Rob is a Computer Software Developer. We do absolutely everything together, from fancy date nights to long drives and walks, to staying in and watching movies and of course enjoying a glass of wine. We dated for just over a year before we got engaged. We got engaged in February 2016 in Punta Cana Dominican Republic.
LS: How did you and your husband meet?
NR: We met briefly for the first time at a mutual friends birthday, at Ivy Bar. We then ran into each other at the same place a few weeks later. He could not take his eyes off me all night haha. Shortly after we went on our first date and were inseparable ever since.
LS: What made you decide on the beautiful Liuna Station for your special day?
NR: When we were deciding on a venue, we both wanted something that had a lot of character and history, something very grand and beautiful. We had looked at many venues and nothing had what we were looking for. Finally when we met with Nicole at Liuna Station and walked into the grand ballroom we knew it was exactly what we were looking for and were beyond excited to book our wedding there. We had been to Liuna Station many times before and knew how great everything was and what a great reputation Liuna Station had.
LS: What vendors did you use to make your dream wedding come to life?
NR: The person who made our vision come to life was our Wedding Planner, Walter Galvao (Walter Galvao Inc.). He was an absolute gem to work with! He brought our vision to life from the very first meeting we had with him. He thought of absolutely everything, his attention to detail was out of this world amazing and he’s very meticulous with his work. He took a huge weight off of our shoulders and made wedding planning fun and easy. He worked very hard and the night of the wedding when we walked into the ballroom we were speechless to how amazing and beautiful everything looked. He made our vision of our vintage/modern/chic wedding a reality! I highly recommend him to anyone planning a wedding!
Dj Emporium was our DJ. The music was so perfect, they had absolutely everyone dancing and kept us all on the dance floor all night! It was a great party, people are still talking about how much fun they had and how great the music was at our wedding! We highly recommend!
AMV was our Videographers & Photographers. We loved our same day edit and wedding video, they captured the whole day and compressed it into an amazing 10 minute video, we recommend them for videography. Unfortunately, we did not like our wedding photos and had a bad experience dealing with them. We re-took our wedding photo’s with Elizabeth in love, who I would absolutely recommend to anyone!
LS: We know that planning a wedding can be stressful! What role did Liuna Station play in alleviating your pre-wedding worries?
NR: Nicole was our event co-ordinator who we dealt with at Liuna, for my bridal shower and wedding. She was so great to work with! She explained everything to us and worked hard at making sure we were happy. She went over and beyond to make sure our needs were met and was very accommodating when we had our meetings prior to our wedding.
We also really enjoyed the Valentines Dance Liuna held for all the couples getting married in 2017. It was great to taste our menu and to see how everything would be at our wedding.
LS: Describe the quality of service you received at Liuna Station.
NR: Excellent Service!! We really loved how every table had a designated server who served us at our hand and foot. The staff was incredible! Our guests are still talking about how they have never had such great service at a wedding before. We were very impressed!
LS: Here at Liuna Station, we love great food. What did you enjoy most about your wedding meal?
NR: EVERYTHING!!! From the amazing antipasto bar, to our delicious pasta, to our perfectly cooked grilled prime, grilled veggies and garlic mash, to our velvety tiramisu and to our amazing midnight table … the food was INCREDIBLE! We chose wedding menu 4
LS: Looking back, what would you say is your favourite memory of your special day?
NR: Walking down the aisle and seeing my gorgeous groom waiting there for me in awe. Also, when we came into Liuna Station and saw the grand ballroom for the first time with our dream wedding brought to life.
LS: What is something you know now that you wish you’d known when you were in the process of planning your wedding?
NR: The only thing is I wish we re-searched our wedding photography a lot more and didn’t settle right away. I remember being worried that we were not going to find a photographer for our date had we not signed right away. it’s really important to take your time with those things, especially photography as you want the most important day of your life captured to your liking!
LS: What advice do you have for couples that are in the process of planning their wedding?
NR: Don’t stress about anything, remember this is your wedding day, it’s about you and your significant other, everything will get done even if it doesn’t seem like it at first. It is very over-whelming when you see all of your payments to all your vendors, just remember that everything will get done. For the day of, don’t stress if anything goes wrong, just go with the flow, you will enjoy your day a lot more. Also, don’t forget to take a minute to yourselves at some point that day to soak it all in… you just got MARRIED!
