When we say it takes a village, we truly mean it—and this is one village we were thrilled to be part of! We were in awe of the creativity that flowed from the incredible vendors who brought Connor and Michael’s dream day to life in our historic venue. With family ties to the building and a deep trust in the process, everything came together to create a stunning visual masterpiece—an event we still fondly reminisce about. Leveraging the natural beauty of our space, this magical couple and their talented team crafted a day that was truly unforgettable!
Tell us a bit about your event you hosted at LiUNA Station!
We got married on October 22, 2022, on a beautiful, warm, and sunny fall day. The reception was held at LiUNA Station, a venue that is very dear to our family. For my husband, LiUNA Station was a hub for family events growing up. His father and grandfather restored it from the CN Train Station to what you see today. Michael always knew he wanted to get married in this building, and I was equally excited, given its rich family history! The reception was perfect, and we are incredibly thankful to the entire team that brought our vision to life. We hired a group of trusted vendors who understood our vision for the Grand Ballroom while preserving the building’s natural essence.
What were some of the sources of inspiration behind the look and feel of your event?
I can’t take any credit for the look and feel of our event! We hired Dana from Saluti Designs (https://www.salutidesigns.com/), and all I told her was that I wanted to fully embrace the beauty of the Grand Ballroom. I trusted her completely with the design of the reception, and it turned out even better than I could have imagined! Our florals were stunning as well, thanks to Karen of Karen Marie Décor and Design (https://www.karenmariedecoranddesign.com/).
Share with us your number one couldn’t live without décor piece or tastiest food option from our catered menu!
You can’t go wrong with any of the food from LiUNA Station. Everything was absolutely perfect, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. I think everyone’s favorite at an event there is definitely the Supreme Antipasto Bar!
What is the one piece of advice you would give someone planning their big day!
Choose a venue and vendors you trust. On the day of the event, try not to worry about anything that goes wrong—it is what it is! Remember, your guests are there to celebrate your love, so focus on your partner and enjoy your special day.
What moment during your event will forever be etched into your memory?
