Prashant and Insiya’s wedding beautifully blended Indo-Western traditions with deeply personal touches. Their ceremony was set to meaningful songs reimagined in a unique musical style, creating an emotional and intimate atmosphere. The celebration continued with a lively dance floor, a Moonlight Buffet, and even late-night dandiya — a joyful, music-filled evening that perfectly reflected the couple’s personalities and love story. Truly a night to remember!
Tell us a bit about your event you hosted at LiUNA Station!
“We had an Indo-Western wedding, starting with a Nikah ceremony. Prashant walked in to the Dragon Ball Z theme song, which was such a fun moment! I (Insiya) walked down the aisle to I Think They Call This Love. Both songs were played on the violin — something especially meaningful to me as a composer who grew up playing the instrument. What made it even more special was that Prashant got to hear covers of two songs deeply tied to his life, reimagined in my musical style. It felt like the perfect combination that truly reflects who we are as a couple — perfect for our ceremony!
After the ceremony, we had a cocktail hour followed by our reception, which began with entrances from our immediate families and then us as bride and groom. We went straight into our first dance to one of our most special songs, Shehron Ke Raaz by Prateek Kuhad. (Can you tell music is very important to us?!)
The night included short and heartfelt speeches, a sibling dance performance, a delicious dinner, and parent dances — Prashant and his mom to Dil Tu Jaan Tu and Woh Ladki Hai Kahan, and me and my dad to Sweet Child O’ Mine, starting with a slow cover before bursting into full rock & roll.
After that, the dance floor was open for the rest of the night! We also had a Moonlight Buffet, and some guests even danced dandiya later on.”
What were some of the sources of inspiration behind the look and feel of your event?
“Green and peach were our colours. We wanted a Forest-Fairy-Indo-Western vibe and wanted to play off the beauty of LiUNA Station. The rest of our inspo came from Pinterest or ideas that held meaning to us in some way!”

What is the one piece of advice you would give someone planning their big day!
“Communication is key — not just between you and your partner and your families, but also with your vendors. If you have a very specific vision, tools like Google Sheets, hyperlinks, and slides are very useful for planning out the flow of your special day and sharing ideas. We’re really glad that we got to simply enjoy the day of and the days leading up to our wedding, and we’re thankful for the people and tools that helped make it happen the way it did.”
What moment during your event will forever be etched into your memory?
“Many moments, but our ceremony and reception entrances were moments where we really felt like, ‘Oh wow, this really is happening now.’”
