Before becoming one of Hamilton’s most iconic venues, LIUNA Station was a bustling CN Rail hub, the last of its kind built in a neoclassical style in Canada. Opened 93 years ago in 1931, it has hosted royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II, and served thousands of travellers. After its closure in the late 80s, LIUNA transformed the abandoned station into a stunning event space, preserving its historic charm while incorporating modern luxuries. Today, from its brass and copper accents to its Italian marble floors, LIUNA Station continues to offer a setting that’s as rich in history as it is in elegance.

In 1986, Vico Rosatone took a part-time job at LIUNA Gardens, never imagining it would set the stage for a lifetime of extraordinary experiences. By 2000, he was leading the way as General Manager, overseeing the meticulous restoration and grand opening of LIUNA Station. With his dedication, infectious enthusiasm, and passion for great food and exceptional service, Vico has played a key role in transforming LIUNA Station into one of the region’s premier event venues.
Under his leadership, LIUNA Station has hosted an impressive array of events, from breathtaking weddings featured in WedLuxe magazine to high-profile celebrations like the Coors Light Mystery Mansion and the official after-party of the 2015 Juno Awards. Whether it’s a glamorous gala or an intimate gathering, when your event means the world to you, Vico and his team ensure every detail is handled with care—because at LIUNA Station, excellence is always on the menu.
With over 30 years at LIUNA Station, Executive Chef Claudio Pingue brings a deep passion for people, food, and entertainment to every dish he creates. Raised in a traditional Italian family from Abruzzo, Claudio’s love for cooking began early, mastering the art of curing, baking, and crafting delicious meals. His culinary journey led him to earn his red seal certification, allowing him to create both gourmet masterpieces and comforting classics like pasta and meatballs, all with his signature attention to detail and excellence. Under Claudio’s direct involvement, each menu is crafted with the highest standards, ensuring your event is an unforgettable culinary experience.
