Capturing A Moment | LiUNA Celebrates with Nadia and Nicholas
After waiting two years to say ‘I Do’ Nadia and Nicholas’ reception was a total dream come true! Playing off the ballroom’s timeless décor with muted tones, greenery and floral arch they created a space of pure elegance. We couldn’t wait to catch up with them and talk about all the little details that went into their special day!
Tell us a bit about your event you hosted at LiUNA Station!
We had our wedding on October 2, 2021. After a two year engagement with a pandemic in the middle, we were so excited to finally have so many friends and friends in the same room to celebrate. Our ceremony took place at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King. Reception took place in the Grand Ballroom at LiUNA Station. We had a bar inside the room to ensure guests had easy access during dinner. We had long tables and round tables to give some dimension to the room.
What were some of the sources of inspiration behind the look and feel of your event?
No specific inspiration, we wanted to keep it timeless and elegant to play off of the charm of the venue. We used a lot of muted fall tones and greenery to brighten up the space. We wanted to frame the head table with a floating flower arch. We added in tall flower arrangements on the long tables to add height. We also included lots of candles down the long tables to give a romantic ambience.
Share with us your number one couldn’t live without décor piece or tastiest food option from our catered menu!
We are never disappointed by the Antipasto Bar! So much selection and always so fresh. Another fan favourite was that we ordered McDonald’s Junior Chickens and Cheeseburgers as part of the late night buffet.
What is the one piece of advice you would give someone planning their big day!
Don’t sweat the small stuff – take time during the day to look around and soak it all in! Make sure you have a photo checklist – to provide your photographers with.
What moment during your event will forever be etched into your memory?
Our final song was by Celine Dion, ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now’ singing at the top of our lungs with our closest friends and family. It was epic and I still watch the videos back.
Tell us all your secrets! Your event was so beautiful and we must know your vendor list!
