Stephen and Sheena exchanged vows in our elegant main lobby, followed by a lively reception in the Continental Express Ballroom, with a memorable first look and wedding photos captured in our garden by the fountain. From the stunning setting and exceptional cuisine to the welcoming atmosphere and dedicated staff, we were proud to help create an unforgettable experience for the couple and their 70 guests!
Tell us a bit about your event you hosted at LiUNA Station!
“LiUNA hosted our wedding rehearsal, ceremony and reception. We had our ceremony in the main lobby, and our reception in the Continental Express Ballroom. We did our first look outside in the garden by the fountain and did our wedding photos onsite. We loved the venue and our 70 guests all had an exceptional time ranging from the delicious food, the beauty of the venue, the atmosphere in general and the amazing staff at LiUNA Station.”
What were some of the sources of inspiration behind the look and feel of your event?
“Almost everything in our wedding was DIY; we had selected LiUNA Station because the venue itself was so beautiful that we wanted the space to be the highlight, and have a somewhat minimal décor to supplement the venue. We loved the look and intimacy of the Continental Express Ballroom, it was the perfect space size for our guest list. LiUNA Station was the perfect fit because we had exceptional support from the entire team right from the start all the way to the end. We loved the entire event space including the gardens out front of the building, it gave us the opportunity to use the entire venue for photos, and including our first look. The main lobby was classy, timeless and the perfect sized space to host our onsite ceremony, the whole event was perfect.”

“The Supreme Anti Pasto Bar! NO QUESTIONS ASKED! We first had our tasting at the Valentine’s Day Gala at LiUNA Station back in February and knew right there that this was a must needed thing on our menu. Patricia, our event planner, helped customize our menu to ensure we had exactly what we envisioned for our event. Our entire family and guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing it was, definitely the highlight of dinner.”
What is the one piece of advice you would give someone planning their big day!
“Take your time evaluating your venue, and make sure you have full confidence in what they can deliver for your wedding preparation and support leading up to the big day. LiUNA Station was the perfect venue for us, as we could have our entire event from rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception onsite. It was a convenient flow of events for all our guests which was part of the reason why we fell in love with this place the moment we saw the venue in person. Literally, every part of LiUNA Station is so beautiful that you can host any event you want there. One of the key reasons we chose LiUNA was the amazing staff, and the transparency in the entire evaluation process. Patricia was amazing to work with and made sure we had all details considered. Nora, the day of coordinator was such a key part of why our event was a success, we are so happy to have had her help. The whole team at LiUNA was so easy and effortless to work with.”
What moment during your event will forever be etched into your memory?
“Our personalized vows to each other after our first look by the fountain in the gardens. We were surrounded by our closest family and wedding party.
Honourable mention to the fire alarm briefly going off during dinner (Not LiUNA’s fault!) and us taking the opportunity to capitalize and get a photo op with the Hamilton Fire Department truck outside of the venue. Everyone had a laugh out of that. The photos we took were some of our absolute favourites actually!”
