Be You, It’s Your Day – Celebrate It Your Way! Saying ‘I Do’ With Sara and Brendan!
Sarah and Brendan are total #couplegoals from their classic décor aesthetic to staying true to who they are and what they wanted for their Wedding Day, down to locally sourcing all these amazing independent vendors to help put together their magical day we couldn’t have been more impressed or in love with their nuptials in our iconic Lobby!
Tell us a bit about your event you hosted at LiUNA Station!
We were finally able to celebrate our wedding after postponing twice because of the pandemic. We had our ceremony upstairs in the lobby and the reception downstairs in the King George Ballroom with all of our friends and family.
What were some of the sources of inspiration behind the look and feel of your event?
From the day we got engaged, I knew the aesthetic I wanted for the wedding – classic, gold accents, something timeless with a bit of our own spin on it. LiUNA Station was the first AND THE ONLY venue we looked at. I instantly fell in love with the look and feel of it and Brendan was sold on the good food options, mainly the antipasto bar!
What is the one piece of advice you would give someone planning their big day!
Do not get caught up on the small details, I promise you won’t remember them. The day is about you and your future spouse and celebrating your love with your closest family and friends. The other thing to remember is, it is your day, make sure that the choices you make for the day reflect you as a couple, don’t worry about other people’s thoughts and opinions–do whatever you want to be able to make the day completely yours.
Finally, choose your vendors wisely, they honestly can make the day magical. We were so, so lucky with who we chose. Go hire all of them!
What moment during your event will forever be etched into your memory?
There are so, so many memories but I think my favourite will be our grand entrance and the first dance. After so much planning and changing plans and the chaos of the world, finally being able to dance with our friends and be in that moment together, just the two of us was amazing!
The whole day was a dream that was well worth the wait.

What was so important to us was using all independently owned and/or local vendors, we hit the absolute jackpot. Our day would not have been the same without our amazing group of vendors who went above and beyond through all the changes, postponements and everything. They were truly amazing and I cannot thank them enough.
