Vintage with a Modern Twist! Alicia and Marco tie the knot.
As bubbles danced their way down the aisle chasing newly weds – Alicia and Marco, we could not have been more excited to be a part of their wedding day. It was 2 years in the making and was definitely worth the wait! From the outpour of love from their family to the simple décor pops and vintage style that adorned our ballroom we loved all the intimate moments that made their special day sweet, sentimental and truly memorable!
Tell us a bit about your event you hosted at LiUNA Station!
On June 4, 2022, we had our wedding (both ceremony and reception) at LiUNA Station. It was a perfect day with amazing weather. All our family and friends came to celebrate with us and our daughter. Lots of laughs, dancing and an incredible amount of superb food. I am still getting compliments on how delicious everything was. It was 2 years in the making and well worth the wait!
What were some of the sources of inspiration behind the look and feel of your event?
Our inspiration was a vintage aesthetic with a modern twist, simplistic yet classic. The beautiful architecture at LiUNA provided such an amazing backdrop to our ceremony and so we didn’t need much other décor as filler.
What is the one piece of advice you would give someone planning their big day!
Do what makes you happy. Family and friends are just happy to celebrate with you – they don’t care if you forget something (and in fact, they likely won’t even notice). Think about making a donation in lieu of parting gifts. It’s true that the day goes by so fast, so make the most of it! Step on the dance floor and boogie!
What moment during your event will forever be etched into your memory?
The ceremony and fumbling with the rings and I turned towards the crowd and said “sorry, this is our first time!” Additionally, once the officiant announced us as husband and wife, she moved to get out of the way of a picture and knocked down a pot – making a dramatic crash – OPA! Of course during the reception the father daughter dance, along with our first dance as a married couple stood out as well.
