Those cool September days are upon us, but no matter the time of year, love is always in the air at Liuna Gardens. Whether your next big event this fall is a birthday, a baby shower, a wedding or anything in between, Liuna Gardens will work with you to transform our venue into your dream come true!
We recently caught up with a happy Liuna Gardens bride named Katelynn, who said it was a “no-brainer” choosing Liuna Gardens for her wedding day. Check out our interview with Katelynn, as she shares her favourite memory from her special day, some advice for couples in the process of planning their own wedding and the role Liuna Gardens played in alleviating her pre-wedding worries!

LG: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your husband.
K: My name is Katelynn and my husbands name is Giovanni Iacobucci. We started dating a little over three years ago and got engaged in July of 2016.
LG: How did you and your husband meet?
K: My husband and I met at a stag & doe for a mutual friend/families daughter and her fiancé.  We had a great time and were instantly friends.

LG: What made you decide on the beautiful Liuna Gardens for your special day?
K: Giovanni’s family has had many events, birthdays, baby showers, Christmas parties etc. at Liuna Gardens for as long as he can remember. He loves food and has always been very impressed with the high quality food served at Liuna.  When we talked about marriage he told me that since he was 15 years old, he knew he would want to have his own wedding at Liuna. It was a no-brainer – I had been to Liuna and loved it there. We didn’t even shop around for other venues. Giovanni and I knew we would have a big wedding (we both have big families) and Liuna had the perfect space for our guests -the amazing food and great scenery was an added bonus.
LG: What vendors did you use to make your dream wedding come to life?
K: We had amazing photographers.  My friend Sarah, the owner of Sarah Grace Photography, and her sister did an amazing job. They traveled between our home, church, and venue to capture our day.  She has recently been featured on the Huffington Post, Good morning America, The Knot, and the Today Show.

We also had Bear & Sparrow Photography as our videographers. Jenna and Justin are an awesome husband and wife duo who usually do both the video and photography together .They were very accommodating to just cover video for the day.

Our DJ was great! He is also a very down to earth person and very professional. Everyone was up dancing the whole time! He played a great mix of everything we wanted. Giovanni and I highly recommend him.

We also had two wedding singers who are professionally trained. Our friends Courtnee Pope and Colton sound great together. Everyone was blown away and loved listening to them between dinner courses. Gio and I could not believe we had so much talent at our wedding.

You can contact Cort here for inquiries, she also runs a Disney princess company.

Décor & Floral
I did the floral myself. I had a small crew of friends and family that helped put together everything the Thursday before the wedding. That was a fun challenge that took a lot of planning and hard work.  My family went along with my crazy idea of having a 9-foot real-fresh wreath at the front of our church. My dad and I built the frame in advance and then we covered it in real flowers.  My centerpieces were wooden boxes I had made with fresh garden flowers (thankfully my neighbors were kind enough to let me pick some of their flowers) I was lucky that my wedding fell on June 17th one of the two weeks that the peonies usually bloom at my house.  We ordered bulk flowers and greenery to guarantee materials.  The bridesmaids bouquets were hand tied garden bouquets with ribbon.

Tip to keep in mind: real flowers are heavy -my bouquet was so heavy my arm hurt throughout the day.
LG: We know that planning a wedding can be stressful! What role did Liuna Gardens play in alleviating your pre-wedding worries?
K: Liuna was great about calling us to set up meetings and kept everything organized for us. We were very busy so the extra help went a long way. We knew that they take pride in having high-quality events – we had no worries about how the day was going to turn out.

LG: Describe the quality of service you received at Liuna Gardens.
K: The day of our wedding we had a mix up with our seating chart -totally our fault, not Liunas. They fixed the issue, added extra tables and had plenty of extra food for the extra guests arriving. They did it professionally and fast and fixed the problem so that Gio and I could go on enjoying our day stress free.
LG: Here at Liuna Gardens, we love great food. What did you enjoy most about your wedding meal?
K: The meal was all Giovanni. That was his department. He loves to eat –a lot.
Liuna worked out a great menu for us, they included everything my husband wanted. It was amazing. The meal came out on time, it was perfectly portioned, and very high quality.  What we liked most is how much we could customize it to fit our budget and taste.

LG: Looking back, what would you say is your favourite memory of your special day?
K: Looking back our favourite part of our wedding was being able to have all of our family and friends together, enjoying a beautiful day at a beautiful venue, and most importantly eating great food.

LG: What advice do you have for couples that are in the process of planning their wedding?
K: Enjoy it. – the planning process is the longest part but it goes by soooo fast.
It’s your day – make it very personable, have your day be a reflection of you.
Be organized- write everything down.
Don’t stress- The day is still going to be amazing! Trust the staff, they do an amazing job!

We’d like to thank the gorgeous bride, Katelynn for sharing her experience at Liuna Gardens and providing so much helpful information for other soon-to-be newlyweds!
